The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a high-level flood warning following a surge in water flow in the River Sutlej at Ferozepur. Authorities are now on maximum alert as water levels continue to rise in adjoining rivers, streams, and drains, posing a serious threat to nearby villages and towns.
According to a PDMA spokesperson, all Deputy Commissioners and Commissioners across key districts including Kasur, Okara, Pakpattan, Vehari, Bahawalnagar, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Lodhran, and Muzaffargarh have been ordered to remain on high alert. Emergency teams are already in action to manage the situation and ensure safety.

In coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), PDMA has initiated large-scale evacuations:
- 150,000+ people have been shifted to safer areas from flood-prone regions.
- Over 14,000 residents evacuated from Kasur.
- Around 2,000 people relocated from Okara.
- Nearly 90,000 people moved from Bahawalnagar.
- More than 900 residents evacuated from Pakpattan.
Director General PDMA, Irfan Ali Kathia, stated that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed all departments to complete emergency arrangements without delay. Citizens have been urged to cooperate with rescue teams and dial 1129 for any flood-related emergency.
