Meta has officially launched its latest lineup of AI-powered smart glasses, including the newly revealed Meta Ray-Ban Display, during its annual Meta Connect event. These glasses feature a built-in high-resolution display in the right lens, a 12-megapixel camera, and integrate with a neural wristband to allow control via hand gestures. Reuters AP News

Priced at US$799 and set to go on sale from September 30, the Ray-Ban Display is aimed at making artificial intelligence wearable and seamless. Also unveiled was the Oakley Meta Vanguard, a sport-oriented model priced at US$499, plus upgraded versions of existing Ray-Ban smart glasses with longer battery life and improved cameras. Reuters

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg described these devices as part of the company’s vision to bring “personal superintelligence” into everyday life — where users can communicate, navigate, see messages and make video calls directly through their eyewear, without constantly pulling out their phones. Critics argue that despite the advanced tech, price tags and software maturity will be key challenges before these AI glasses become mainstream. Reuters
