According to industry insiders, the show’s second season has received a lukewarm response from audiences, sparking speculation that Netflix may not renew it for another season.
“People who worked on the show don’t think it will be picked up for another season,” an insider revealed to Parade. “It’s not doing well or what the network would have hoped it would do.”
Despite the criticism, Meghan Markle remains confident about her vision and the show’s purpose. Speaking with Emily Chang, the Duchess of Sussex addressed the negative reviews, saying:
“I think I know who I was trying to meet. If you know your audience and you know your demographic, they love the show, and my partners love the show, and that’s why we have a season two.”
She added humorously that critics might secretly enjoy her tips and recipes featured in the show:
“So I often think of the negative voices, are they saying negative things and then secretly going home and making my single skillet spaghetti? Maybe they are.”
While Meghan stands by her content, reports suggest that the streaming platform may have anticipated stronger viewership for the series.
