Japan has expressed strong support for the initial peace agreement between Israel and Hamas

“Japan supports Israel-Hamas peace deal, urges ceasefire and humanitarian aid in Gaza — symbol of peace and hope between Japan and Middle East.”

In a major diplomatic development, Japan has expressed strong support for the initial peace agreement between Israel and Hamas, aimed at ending Tel Aviv’s ongoing war on Gaza. Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya stated that the pact is a “significant step toward calming the situation and achieving a two-state solution.”

According to the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tokyo emphasized the importance of implementing the agreement in good faith and urged all parties to respect international law while ensuring humanitarian aid reaches the people of Gaza without delay.

Japan has also commended the efforts of mediating countries — including the United States, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkiye — for their contribution to brokering the deal. The Foreign Minister further called for the immediate release of all hostages and the establishment of a sustainable ceasefire to prevent further loss of life.

“This agreement must be implemented, and the tragic situation must be brought to an end without delay,” Iwaya said, reinforcing Japan’s commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East.
