🌕 Pakistan Set to Witness First Supermoon of 2025 on October 7 — A Celestial Spectacle Awaits!

“Supermoon 2025 over Pakistan sky – bright full moon glowing above Faisal Mosque with city lights, captured during October celestial event.”

The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has confirmed that the first supermoon of 2025 will illuminate the skies across Pakistan on October 7, 2025. This rare celestial event will mark the beginning of a fascinating lunar cycle, offering astronomy enthusiasts and skywatchers a breathtaking view.

According to SUPARCO, the Moon will reach its perigee — its closest point to Earth — at a distance of around 361,400 kilometres (224,599 miles). During this phase, it will appear approximately 14% larger and 30% brighter than a typical full moon, making it one of the most visually captivating lunar events of the year.

Experts note that when viewed near the horizon, the supermoon can appear even larger due to a fascinating optical illusion — a well-known phenomenon observed by skywatchers worldwide.

This will be the first supermoon in nearly a year, following the last one observed in November 2024. According to SUPARCO’s report, three more supermoons are expected in the current cycle — on November 5 and December 5, 2025, and another in early January 2026, which will mark the end of this lunar series.

For astronomy lovers in Pakistan, the October 7 supermoon offers a perfect opportunity to experience the beauty of the night sky. Experts recommend finding a clear, open area with minimal light pollution for the best view.
